R Park is a charming, 5.4-acre park located at heart of a friendly neighborhood in Roeland Park, Kansas. Officially designated as a City park in 2010, it sits on the site of the former Roeland Park Elementary School at  5535 Juniper Drive. With wide open green spaces, walking paths, athletic courts and playground equipment it is the perfect place for families to enjoy the outdoors together.

R Park, your park

R Park is truly a people’s park. In 2014, residents of Roeland Park formed the Citizens Fundraising Initiative for R Park. This grassroots group with the actions and support of Mayor Joel Marquardt and the City Council is dedicated to ensuring the master plan for enhancements to the park is realized. Our mission is to raise funds and work with the City Parks and Trees Committee to improve the mental, physical and social well-being and overall wellness of the community. Comprised of eight dedicated men and women, we receive help and support from members of the community like you.

Have you been to R Park recently or are you there right now? Send us your photos and tell us what you think. You might just show up on this website!

Help R Park growR Park

We have been offered an opportunity to partner with Branding Stop, a company that sells promotional products and company apparel, to help raise money for a community picnic shelter in R Park. From now through April 30, 2017, 3% of the total of every order placed with Branding Stop will be donated to R Park improvements. Make sure to use the fundraiser code “RPARK” when placing your order.
