R Park master plan
The R Park master plan for improvements was developed in 2011 by Clark Enersen Partners. In 2014, the Citizens Fundraising Initiative for R Park began to raise funds and work in coordination with the City Parks and Trees Committee so that the master plan would be realized. This five-year plan is projected to be implemeted in 11 phases and would include enhancements to existing features as well as construction and addition of new ones.
A revised master plan was recently revealed by the City at a Community Forum on Jan. 5, 2016. Highlights of the revised plan include the following:
- single tennis court
- sand volleyball court
- half basketball court
- bocce ball
- community shelter
- natural play area
- learning planted area
The City Council will be making recommendations for the revised plan’s approval in the near future. Stay tuned for updates!
